In her voice and soundscapes, you might catch echoes of folk storytelling, indie rock confessional, and jazz sophistication. These more heady aspects are paired with a groovy, analog sound, felt in the body like a warm tonic. This strikes the listener as eerily familiar, like a fragment of a melody from a dream. 

Julia has performed extensively around the Athens, Georgia and Atlanta area, including at Athfest, and has been featured in Nuci's space Satellite Sessions. Julia’s journey is colored by her diverse experiences: formal musical training, a brief but immersive Army career spanning three continents and six years, and putting down roots as an alternative farmer near Athens, Georgia.

Julia explores these contradictions through her music and a variety of personas. Whether embodying a 1950s housewife in a retrofuturistic dystopia, a Y2K pop star, or a 1970s cult leader, she dons these roles like costumes, using them as channels for her creativity. Her most recent persona, The Fool Prophet, a wacky character from an alternate reality 1970s, confounds and delights audiences by combining humor with ancient wisdom and unhinged albeit practical advice.
